Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique 19th Century Marti et Cie French Victorian Fancy Black Marble Slate Mantel Shelf Clock with Open Escapement, made in France. This Clock measures 12" Wide x 9" Tall x 6 1/4 Deep, and is Very Heavy and Weighs almost 25 pounds!!! This Has a Black Marble Slate Case with Pink Marble Swirl Accents.
This has a Signed Round French Brass Mechanical 8 Day Wind-Up "Time & Strike" Mechanical Movement which is Signed "S Marti et Cie- Medaille de Bronze", which dates the Clock 1860 - 1889. This has a Cathedral Coil Spring Gong Chime, which Strikes Correctly. This Has a White Porceleain Dial with Black Roman Numerals and Open Escapement with Brass Trim and Center Ring with Heavy Bevelled Glass Bezel, in Excellent Condition!!! The Clock Runs for a Few Minutes and Stops, and Will Need Lube and Adjustments too Run Correctly. Both Main Springs are Good, and it Strikes Correctly.
It Shouldn't Take Much to get This Running Right!!! There are Two Winding Arbors on the Dial and it Includes a Winding Key, and the Correct Pendulum.
