This is a lovely example of a French eagle hallmarked Victorian era 18ct rose gold spinning fob with Saronyx central engraved stone. The top is of a scrolled design with a top gold loop, the integrated loop has two eagles stamped which is the French hallmark for 18ct, it's hard to see but I have photographed the best I can. The central oval stone is a beautifully carved Sardonyx bearing initials in fancy script. Sardonyx is a brown Onyx that has white band and it's this band which is used for engraving giving a unique opaque look.

The body of the fob is highly decorated gold with Gold flowers interspersed with red stones set into raised intricately designed gold. The engraved initials are difficult to make out but beautiful in their own regard, the other side is another white band which would have been difficult to find in the original stone making this a high quality item.

It would originally hung from an Albert watch chain but could quite easily now be worn a an attractive and unique pendant. It is approx 2.8cm long not including the ring and 1.9cm at its widest, approx. The Fob is in very good condition with no obvious signs of damage, but it should be remembered that this item is not brand new and as such will show signs of previous use, as expected from an antique item. Please look at the pictures carefully they form part of the listing. It's very unusual to have these to be in 18ct Gold and this high quality example would make a great addition to any collection or fantastic gift for a special occasion.
