A rich aged patina that's mellowed with time enhances their antique appearance as well as the impressive and stately silhouette. Standing nearly 17 inches in height, each cherub stands on a plinth type base measuring 4 in diameter, and lifts a floral candle cup that's cradled in a designated decorative foliate bobeche to catch excessive wax drippings. The round felted bases possibly stood on a marble pedestal or platform at one time, and if so these have been lost over the years. The bronze sculptural candle holders that remain are in beautiful heirloom condition, showing no signs of excessive use, damages, or compromising imperfections. Only their slight oxidation and aged patina is left behind to speak of their history.
