"VICTORIAN (1844) 9CT MOURNING BROOCH". Mourning jewellery symbolizes everlasting love and this brooch has been designed to do just that.It has a very unique design and has been set with seed pearls and french jet. The middle section, from the pearl section inwards, can be taken out but is quite difficult to get back in so I did not attempt it for the photographs. The back of the brooch has been inscribed' William Fuller Lofty, October 10th March 1844, After 20 yrs'. This brooch is a wonderful collectors piece and would make a lovely addition to any jewellery collection.
It comes nicely presented in a jewellery box and has been tested as being 9ct gold. Diameter: 1 1/4 (3.4cm). A few (2-4) of the smaller jet beads have been replaced over the years but otherwise, it is in excellent vintage condition. Please check the photographs and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. This item is in the category "Jewellery & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewellery\Mourning Jewellery".
