Antique Boxed French Sterling Silver hinged Reticulated Asparagus Server
This hinged antique asparagus server is perfect for serving a cherished delicacy. Every May, the white asparagus appear on tables in France, Belgium and Holland. They are served with boiled eggs and boiled potatoes in one of the more celebrated seasonal dishes. This tong is stamped with the Minerva mark, indicating French 950 silver. The bottom blade is marked Depose.
The reticulated top and bottom are intricately engraved as well. The handle has no monogram. Condition is very good, the bottom of the box is lined in soft white suade which has some age related marks from storage.
