Antique Clock Garniture Victorian 19th Century Mantel Clock Cassolettes French

19th Century Marble Clock Garniture, circa 1860. A beautiful, fine and large antique French mantel clock garniture set comprising of ormolu bronze and marble, dating to the 19th century, circa 1860. The clock features a white Carrara marble base raised on four bun feet, decorated with ormolu applique and issuing a central Carrara marble column with ormolu collar and garland.

The marble column flanked by a two finely chiselled bronze female and male figures sitting on Cararra marble plinths. The clock drum with enamel dial and hand painted floral garlands and Arabic numerals and protected by a thick bevelled glass door with ormolu rim. The clock drum is flanked by two finely cast ormolu ancient Greek masks and is surmounted by a globe inscribed'Europe' and'Amerique'. This fine clock features an 8 day twin train movement striking the hours and half on a bell. The pieces comes complete with pendulum, winding key and bell. 40 cm high x 35 cm wide. The clock includes a pair of very fine pair of attractive Carrara marble, ormolu and bronze cassolettes urn garnitures. The white carrara marble body in the form of an urn with mounted ormolu garlands, surmounted by an engine turned finial and flanked by two classical masks. The carrara marble urn rests on an engine turned stem mounted on a circular marble base raised on four bun feet. The pair are in overall very good condition with signs of usage commensurate with age.

Approximate dimensions: 32.5 cm high x 11 cm wide. Overall, the clock is in good condition. The ormolu retains a good colour. The clock does show some signs of its age and usage.
