A beautiful and impressive looking antique Victorian French clock garniture comprising of a clock and two matching side candelabra made of porcelain and ormolu. The set dates to the 19th century, circa 1890.

The clock rests on four scrolled feet and features a large hand painted serves style porcelain plaque to the centre depicting a pair of lovers. The clock is surmounted with elaborate scrolled finial. The porcelain features gold gilding throughout. The dial is enamel and includes a hand painted rural scene with Roman Numerals; the dial is protected by a bevelled glass door.

The clock has an 8 day mechanical twin train movement stamped'Japy Freres Medal Of Honour' that strikes the hours and half on a bell with a lovely chime and is regulated by a count wheel; the mechanism is protected by a door. The sets also includes two matching four branch ormolu candelabra which also feature hand painted porcelain plaques depicting cottages in rural settings. Comes complete with pendulum, winding key and bell. Overall, the clock is in good working condition.

The ormolu and porcelain is in good condition and retains a good colour. Please note, whilst the clock currently works, during transport, all clocks are moved around a lot, and therefore, they may require setting up upon receiving them as well as the possibility of requiring professional assistance or a service as they can get'stuck'.
