Exceptional condition original French Victorian 18ct rose Gold Earrings with leverback fittings for pierced ears. The floral whorl head is approx.

11mm diameter, 16 mm total height. Each of the handcrafted ten individual petals is set with an original 1mm split Pearl and has an embossed arched fluted edging. A 2mm rose-cut diamond is held into prominence by ten 3mm tall claws to maximize the sparkle. The head is supported by a 2mm double pierced side gallery. The reverse of the head shows the intricate details of the fabrication - le savoir-faire a l'ancienne.

The style with the pierced gallery would date them to Napoleon III epoque 1850-70. The leverbacks are an upgrade for convenience and speed over hinged Dormeuses fittings. Hallmarked with the French Eagle's Head for 18ct Gold and makers mark in gothic style initials. Absolutely luminous when worn, very flattering to any age wearer.
