Antique Victorian Napoleon III ring. 18k gold, rosecut diamonds, agate hardstone cameo habille. Made in France, 19th century.
Measurements: Weight is 5.3 grams. Description : A wonderful blackamoor carved cameo seemingly floats in a gold shank with a ring of gold with diamonds in rectangular collettes at the cardinal points.
The agate hardstone is a layer of black over white, perfectly suited for the subject matter, which is wonderfully carved in profile. Large gold earrings and a gold necklace or collar, typical of those worn in Africa.Gold mount with gentle, scrolling engraved decoration. Marks and Metal: French owl mark for 18k gold on outside of shank. Condition: Good with minor wear/dings to gold commensurate with age.
