BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN FRENCH LADIES INLAID WOODEN ETUI + ORIGINAL SILVER CONTENTS c. A very pretty example of a typical French lady's sewing etui dating from the mid 1800's, along with its original lining and silver fittings.
Please see the attached photos which are an integral part of this description. All items are described to the best of my knowledge however usually don't state the obvious as this can be seen from the photos provided. Please appreciate that all items are antique/vintage/used and thus are likely to show varying degrees of age related wear. The box and contents are in very good condition.
The catch seems to need a little encouragement to close but this is mainly due to the scissors not having been seated properly. The silver contents each have typically ornate decoration in the French Rococo manner.
I have been unable to find hallmarks so far... Which is not unusual with French items.
The marks are often much smaller than on English silver. DIMENSIONS: 12.5 cm x 7.0 cm tapering to 5.0 cm.
