French Victorian 6 TURQUOISE 18 Seed Pearls 18k Rose Gold Navette RING Antique

Some examples seen in the last photo, so please see my other offerings and thanks for stopping by! Very eye catching French 18k rosey gold ring from the turn of the century. This piece is in a sort of squared navette setting with scalloped top and bottom edges with 6 square turquoise stones bezel set in a line down the center surrounded by 18 creamy iridescent to grayish pearls. It has a reticulated band where the shoulders of the ring appear like bands of gold until it connects to a solid band at the back. There is a split to the band that does not affect wearability - please see more detailed condition notes below.

This is an antique piece that I acquired in France. Beautiful form to this setting, the face of the ring is a nice eye catching size highlighted by the beautiful natural turquoise stones in various shades, almost like a gradient with the darker stones being on the outside edges. There seems to be a partial hallmark on the back outside of the band (where the French mark their gold), but it looks partially covered over as I believe the piece was sized at one point. But the person I bought it from had it tested by a jeweler.

I also acid tested it to confirm it was 18k. Currently measures a little under a size 5 1/4. The navette face of the ring is 3/4 of an inch tall by 3/8 an inch.

There is a crease to one of the outside bars of gold on the edge of the band on one side and a split on the other where it has slightly curved. This is not visible when worn because it is far down on the sides where the ring meets the side of the adjacent finger. It is not sharp and it does not make the band flimsy, the band is strong and not bendable, it is more visible when really studied close up or under magnification.

In the same manner, there is a small crack to the corner of one of the center turquoise stones. I can't see it with my eyes, only with very strong magnification. One of the darker stones on the end is a little irregularly shaped, but I don't think it is chipped because when I look at it under magnification, it is rounded / smooth but you will notice the different shape in the zoomed photos.

And then there is some Surface wear from use and wear to the gold band commensurate with age. It is still nicely shaped and all the stones seem secure.

Like all antique jewelry, please handle these rings with care. I don't see any loose stones or anything, but I just always recommend special occasion and gentle wear on these very old pieces.
