Antique French Chandelier, Circa 1890s. A large and impressive French Napoleon III'bird cage' chandelier dating to circa 1890s, comprising of bronze and crystal drops.The chandelier is an original piece, and has been electrified; in other words, was used with candles at one time. At the top, the chandelier is decorated by a glass baluster stem. Throughout, scrolled branches and arms issue slender multifaceted crystal drops linked and hung with glass rosettes and beads. In the centre of the chandelier, a multifaceted crystal obelisk is issued creating an imposing and dramatic impression.
The base of the chandelier is adorned by further glass drops and is decorated with a multi faceted crystal ball finial. The chandelier has 6 light arms with original wooden candle sleeves; further to this, the chandelier has 3 internal light points.
Due to their high led content, the chandelier makes beautiful colours of the rainbow when the light/ sunlight hits the drops. 0 cm high (including chain) 70 cm high (without chain) x 50 cm wide.
Condition: Overall, the chandelier is in very good condition, considering age and usage. There are no drops missing.
