Rare Antique/Vintage French Table/Bedside Rise and Fall Lamp

Not sure if its Copper or Brass. The lamp is a rise and fall one... (Can be moved up and down the "stem"). Im pretty sure the shade is not original to the lamp, but it looks ok on it.

I also assume that at some stage it started its life off as an oil lamp, but thats just my thoughts. We had a shop for some years in Belgium and this was brought in France. Please see all pictures as these make up part of the description. They come with French plug, but easily to replace with a standard Uk plug.
